AC Milan may not be a hot favorite to win Italian league Serie A this year coz of its shoddy performance that placed it at 13th spot in the leaderboard after fourteen matches it played, yet it doesn’t mean that Berlusconi lost his interest in it. Former Italian prime minister and owner of AC Milan has condemned the news of him selling the club. Actually, there are some newsflashes in the media that say he is getting more and more disinterested in the club. Moreover, a Chinese soccer club Guangzhou Evergrande is revealed as interested in AC Milan. However, now, Berlusconi denies all the media speculations and explains Chinese delegations’ visit as a sponsorship visit only. He said, “There have been no negotiations with anyone. The Chinese could come in as sponsors. Moreover, it doesn’t make sense to sell a club at this time. First we have to return to the top, then maybe we can consider it.” His statement tells he is more interested in strenthing his club rather selling it at the moment.
Recently, Berlusconi joined AC Milan training session where he reached via his chopper and watched his players training. He even boosted a confident by chatting with the team for few minutes ahead of AC Milan’s coming Serie A match against Napoli this weekend. Actually, AC Milan’s deteriorated performance this season made all these speculations to happen; this is obvious too, coz AC Milan was the winner of 2011 Serie A. As far Allegri is concerned, his job was in serious trouble after Milan’s loss to Fiorentina by 3-1. But, Berlusconi, after meeting vice president Adriano Galliani, decided to keep him and said, “If Allegri is here it is because he has my confidence. Otherwise as president I would have fired him. In 26 years we have changed coaches during the season only twice. It’s not our custom, we are serious. I have a good relationship with the coach, he’s a good person as well as a good coach. And with him we won a title before a stunning list of injuries.”
So, as far AC Milan is concerned, it is not going to anyone – at least for some time now. Berlusconi, who himself has faced many charges of corruption from his other business interests; is serious for his soccer commitments. Perhaps, he is trying hard to make AC Milan number one again, and then, he can probably think of selling it. But for now, AC Milan will belong to Berlusconi!
