Blaugrana refuses to sell Fabregas at any price

Fabregas

After months of homework and then placing two bids for the former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas, United is finally empty handed. Its long running affords to secure 26-year-old looks to be going in a vein as Barcelona has finally refused to listen to any offer from the EPL champions. This is rather a shock for the new United’s manager who was sure to secure the midfielder for upcoming English premier league season. This is probably the first time United fails to lure a club despite bidding twice within a month, but it looks uncertainty at Barcelona has gone by after the arrival of Gerardo Martino as the replacement of Tito Vilanova. Fabregas has been a key contributor for Barcelona ever since he joined them back in 2011, he has since played 96 matches for the Spanish giant though he was seen mostly following other key players like Xavi and Andres Iniesta, and still he has ever been a worthy asset for La Liga champions. Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu said during the first new conference of the new manager that “United’s interest for Cesc Fabregas is obvious, he’s a great player but it does not bother us. It does not matter what they offer us, we are not selling him.”

Barcelona paid a sum of £30m to Arsenal back in 2011 and United is also willing to pay similar amount to buy the player after two years of his contract with the Spanish club, still Barcelona has no intention to let his key midfielder go away. First bid made by the English club was for £25m which was rejected on the spot, but later there seemed to be some developments coz United officials visited Spain to confirm the deal, but all of a sudden everything finished for the United. When asked about the response on any third probable offer from the English side, Bartomeu said, “I’m not going to involve myself in the club’s accounts, but considering the club has already rejected two offers, I would guess it will reject a third. In other words, Fabregas will remain here. If there was a higher offer would we accept it? No. We’re proud that a club like that wants one of our players.”

According to latest news coming from Barca den, it has no intension to sell out Fabregas no matter what the new price would be, so it looks like midfielder would have to spend at least one more season residing there as next season could see fresh bids for the in-form player.
