Messi calls off from International soccer; Maradona urges to play until 2018 World Cup

While many call it a shocking news, many take it a perfect opportunity for Lionel Messi to retire from international soccer after his failure to score in a penalty shootout playing for his national side in Copa America final against Chile. It was precisely fourth major final loss for La Albiceleste in nine years and second to Chile, in fact, ever since Messi has been a part of Argentine national squad, they could only win one Olympic gold at the 2008 Games and experts are calling it a big failure for the high profile player to copy his club performances playing for the national side. Likewise, many are taking it as a proof why most of the starlets avoid playing international games citing the money involved in club soccer and as far Messi is concerned, unlike his international feats, he has been among the most successful playing for his club Barcelona where he won as many as won eight La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues in his glorious club career. Anyways, after he announced … [Read more...]

Jurgen Klinsmann wants his team to surprise Argentine in upcoming Copa America semis

Every time a team is up against any high profile side, it is up to its manager how he motivates his side to play against the toppers hence he often issues exaggerated statements underplaying opponents’ strength and most of the time he starts by targeting the star player of upcoming rival. This is something that seems to be the case with United States national soccer side who is about to face Argentina in Tuesday's Copa America Centenario semifinal at NRG stadium. Had it been any other side, 51-year-old German would have no problem but since this is a side powered by Messi, he needs to pull up his arms and start motivating his men by underrating Albiceleste although there is no one who is buying his overconfidence. If we talk about what is forcing the US manager to issue these statements, it is their win against Paraguay in two Copa qualifier games last October when Los Guaraníes had almost defeated the much high profile Argentinean side recently hence he is getting the fuel out of … [Read more...]

Selecao sacks manager Dunga after an early exit from the Copa America

June 15, 2016 by 888Scoreonline

Living the tradition of firing any non performing player or manager, Brazil finally sacked its manager Dunga after his failure to advance Selecao from the group stage of Copa America Centenario. Knowingly, Peru defeated Brazil by 1-0 on Sunday thanks to the controversial goal that reportedly came off the hands of striker Raul Ruidiaz. Even though defeat margin was just one goal and overall gameplay of the Brazilian team was as well satisfactory but the tourney result let down the hopes for Brazilian football manager to retain his job after his side thrown out of the event. Brazilian Football Confederation informed about the decision taken in the meeting last night and he is asked to give his position after he returns from the United States this Tuesday. Next bigger question is who will replace Dunga on the top post, and CBF has the answer for that too. There have been countless moments in soccer when a player, who was about to sit outside before the match, luckily got an opportunity to play and made history by preforming brilliantly; this is something that happened with Argentina national side in Copa America quarterfinal against Colombia. Actually, match finished its first ninety minutes without a score on the card hence match entered into penalty shootout where Carlos Tevez scored the decisive spot kick to take his side into semis.
