Trapattoni axed by Ireland

The 74-year-old brilliant soccer mind: Giovanni Trapattoni, who guided the Ireland national soccer team to archive some of the biggest successes, including almost reaching into the 2010 world cup final, is now a past. The Italian, who has been associated with Republic since last five years, could not halt their losing streak in world cup qualifying campaign where they are almost out now. The Football Association of Ireland informed about their over the top decision which also surprised many coz he has ever been a landmark personality in Ireland soccer. Anyway, he is not the only one who has been shown the doors as his assistant Marco Tardelli has also joined him. If we look at the track record of The Green Army, they successfully qualified for the European Championships last year but could never make any impression and almost crushed by Spain, Italy, and Croatia. Later, national selectors made several promises to come back with a visible difference by after looking at their last few … [Read more...]

September 10, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

If anyone is asked which club has the longest arms in terms of number of sponsors around the world; his answer would definitely be Spanish giant Barcelona, and why not, this club has a reputation of leading the soccer world since long. In fact, the La Liga champions have countless sponsorship deals in European States and cover almost every sector which is somehow allied to soccer, but this is probably the first time, it has stretched its arms outside Europe, especially for tying with a banking sector. Camp Nou club has finalized a three-year deal with one of the top UAE banking brand: United Arab Bank (UAB) on Sunday. It is actually Barca third financial partner and first in an Asian State after Spain and Andorra. September 8, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

Arsenal has ever been one of the strongest contenders in English Premier League, but since last few seasons it is fast losing its charm which is worrying its diehard fans who always love to recall them ‘The Invincibles.’ Actually, they are missing a league trophy from their collection since ten years as they won last silverware back in 2003-04 and they are since fighting to reclaim their glory. This year, things can be different; at least Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain thinks so. The 20-year-old midfielder says there is an unexplained vibe within the team that they will again triumph the English topflight – after a gap of a decade. Last ten years have seen lots of changes in Gunners right from their infrastructure to backend strategies which are now mentored by none other than master craftsman Arsène Wenger who himself can refine the confidence level of any team. This season, they could not have a dream start but they made a quick comeback with back to back wins in next matches, moreover they … [Read more...]

Aston Villa boss faces penalty for his rant on referees

September 7, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

Exaggeration has ever been a part of soccer; perhaps team officials take every little decision, which went against them, as a conspiracy to debar them. Sometimes, these officials lost their control and start condemning everything related to a match, including referees, opponents, and all. This is something that recently happened with Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert when he lost an important match to Chelsea by 2-1. Their performance throughout the match was commendable; everyone saw this, but there were two moments when, according to him, they should have been awarded penalties: one is when ball touched John Terry's arm in a confrontation with Gabby Agbonlahor and second when Branislav Ivanovic deliberately elbowed Christian Benteke. According to Lambert, Ivanovic should have been sent off for his nonsense behavior; a mistake which cost them a match coz the defender later scored the winner for Blues. The Scot specifically questioned the performance of referee Kevin Friend and his … [Read more...]
