Sir Alex Ferguson announces his retirement after this season
The most prolific soccer personality of our times, 71-year-old Manchester United Manager: Sir Alex Ferguson has announced his retirement as the manager of his club after a regime of over 26 years at Old Trafford. The news is perhaps the biggest in the soccer world today, coz he is undoubtedly the most successful football manager ever seen in soccer winning as many as 38 trophies, including 13 league titles for his club and one FIFA Club World Cup. Arsenal fights for third place after defeating QPR
English Premier League is counting its days and so its leaderboard’s final positions. Top two positions are almost fixed with their takers while a fight is still on for the third and fourth places in the league. There are three contenders for these two positions who are close to each other: Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham. These three teams are almost equal with their points; however, Arsenal has played 36 matches while Chelsea has played two matches less than it. So, at the moment, Arsenal and Chelsea have occupied the third and fourth places while Tottenham is at fifth place with an equal number of points as Chelsea. ManU shows record £91.7m third quarter revenue
Manchester United seems to be rolling the soccer world by its performance on both off the field and on the field. Everyone knows that it has won its 20th English Premier League title with four matches in hand, and now it posts record revenue for the third quarter ending 31st march 2013. The balance sheet it much impressive than what it was during last quarter, coz there is a surge in every significant revenue head. Like, there is a total revenue total of £91.7m, including sponsorship revenue which has increased by more than 50% YoY. Similarly, earning before income tax and depreciation allowances, which is considered the real income for a period, has also increased by 22.5 percent.
