Spanish footballer David de Gea, who plays for Manchester United as a goalie, has denied all the rumors that he could leave United for a probable move to Barcelona. Recently, Barca seemed to be looking for a replacement for its keeper Victor Valdes, and David de Gea was the man it has shortlisted as a replacement, but Gea clearly put a dot on all the speculations that he has been given a lucrative deal package if he decides to leave Old Trafford. Platini stands against Blatter over Euro 2020 issue
President of UEFA and that of FIFA seem to be standing against each other over the issue that where EURO 2020 championship league will be played. While, FIFA president has a view to host this mega sporting event in twenty nations, Platini has different views on that. Blatter recently gave an interview to a sport magazine where he said that UEFA is lacking ‘heart and soul’ to see Championship league become a multinational event. In respond, UEFA president said in an another interview that there are 53 football associations under UEFA and 52 out of them have agreed on FIFA’s plan to host a multinational event except Turkey, and now Blatter’s comment questioning their intention is actually an attack on 52 football associations who have agreed upon the concept. Zaha gets one-match ban for his obscene gesture
Crystal Palace striker Wilfried Zaha has been slapped with a one match suspension after he found guilty of improper conduct during a match with Leeds United last week. He was being changed for posing his finger up on Leeds supporters which was taken as an obscene gesture posed by a player; however, fans are free to make any such gestures on players! Eagles manager Ian Holloway was also charged for a misconduct during the same match. They were given March 15 as a deadline to respond to their side and after hearing their side, it was decided that he should be banned for one match, which mean he will not be a part of his team who is going to play with Birmingham City in a home clash. Besides, he is also asked to pay £3,000 by football associations’ disciplinary committee.
