While most of the clubs are busy in drafting their buy out deals in running transfer window, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has intensified another issue regarding completely banning or at least reducing January transfer window. Interestingly, another high profile soccer official, UEFA president Michel Platini, is also in his support for such a move. Wenger has a reason for his demand; he finds lots of players and coaches live in a dilemma throughout the season about whether they will stay for their teams they have started with or not. Thirteen cities to host Euro 2020 games
In line with the expectations, UEFA has finally announced that Euro 2020 games will a multi-nation event wherein thirteen cites would host the event matches. Moreover, since every country will only allow providing one venue, there would at least be 13 countries who will participate in the mega European soccer event. The debate has long been on the cart that such an event should expand its reach beyond few dominated countries, perhaps UEFA president has recently said about his wish to make such an improvement in its structure, and finally his dreams seem to be a reality now. The details of the 2020 event are announced by the UEFA secretary general, Gianni Infantino, who also added that semifinals and finals would be held at the same venue and probably for the first time host will not qualify automatically. Newcastle striker Ranger arrested for rape charges
Nile Ranger, Newcastle striker, is one player who has always been in news for wrong reasons. If anyone has forgotten his recent misfortunate incidents; here is another one to recall his style of living. Now, he is charged for raping and assaulting a woman in a hotel room in Jesmond, Newcastle on Wednesday and Thursday. Consequently, Northumbria Police first meet him in his Forrest Hall home and later took 21-year-old striker to the police station for further questioning. While he stays in the station for long hours on Friday too, police issued a statement about his arrest; police spokeswoman said, “On Thursday January 24 a woman reported to police that she had been raped overnight at a hotel in Jesmond. Real Madrid and Barcelona top the richest soccer clubs’ list
Spanish clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona continue their dominance over top richest clubs’ list for eighth consecutive year. Both these clubs are ahead by around 100m Euros to their third place holder Manchester United in the recently published Football Money League by an accountant firm Deloitte. Topping the list for eighth time brings La Liga club equal to Manchester United that headed the list for a similar term during initial first eight years of the money league, moreover it also became the only club in the world to cross half a billion mark. The list comprises top twenty clubs which have generated maximum revenues in financial year 2011-12. Ace Brazilian attacking midfielder Ronaldinho will again be seen running for his national team though in a friendlier against England at Wembley.
