Ashley Cole inks one year extension for Chelsea
After many debates about his probable transfer, Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole has finally decided to stay at where he is - at least for another year. Close sources of the player have revealed that Cole has completed his negotiation to remain at Stamford Bridge for a whopping sum of £10 million though it is not official as yet coz there is no written agreement has been signed upon. Valdes set to leave Barca
In less than a week of Barca head coach Pep Guardiola’s decision to leave the club, here is another probable high profile departure from Nou Camp. This time, Barca’s most trusted goalie Victor Valdes has decided not to renew his expiring contract with Barcelona FC. His current contract is going to expire after 2013-14 season, and thereafter, he will look around elsewhere to continue his soccer career. Hearts ban lifted by Scottish Premier League
Scottish football club Hearts can now relax a bit coz its ban has been lifted by Scottish Premier League. Accordingly, they are now free to sign new players with prescribed restrictions. Notably, Hearts was banned from signing any new player citing their inability to pay salary and bonuses to existing players and admin staff. Moreover, even the timing of payment made was arbitrary; hence SPL, then, decided to restrict their powers to sign any new player until they clear all the outstanding payments. Now a campaign to restrict away matches’ ticket prices at £20
Everybody saw what happened in the recent match between Manchester City and Arsenal where latter fixed the unparalleled price for City fans. Even though City won the match, there were more than two third of the City fans who did not accept the arbitrary pricing put on by north London club. Now, a campaign has been called upon to avoid any future alike situation where a host team could fix an unwarranted ticket pricing either to avoid visitor’s fan to attend the match, or to make it sure that host would always have an edge over visitors. Football Supporters Federation, who has come forward to put a ceiling on all away prices, has decided to put a £20 max cap which is well within the reach of any fan who wants to follow his favorite team.
