Since, his current contract with North London side is still remaining; hence new contract is said to be taken into force from next month. Copa Sudamericana final called off amid violence by security personnel

Brazil is the host of 2014 FIFA world cup, so any kind of disturbance there is a big news nowadays. One of the surprising events happened in the final of Copa Sudamericana between Sao Paulo and Tigre in Brazil where players and official of Tigre have claimed to be beaten up by security personnel on gun point, so they had to boycott the field after half time. When they did not come into the field post half session, match was called off, and Sao Paulo was awarded the trophy. The whole incident looks very strange from outside, in a country where soccer is a religion and especially in the final of a league, how can it be possible that players of a team are so beaten up? Actually, this incident has been spread into the whole world as an eye opener about how things can change at the world cup. Tigre players claim that they were attacked by none other than security personnel right in their dressing rooms, including pointing guns on them. This is really a strange incident especially in a … [Read more...]

Zambia FA and Flamengo to Challenge Messi’s Record

At the moment, everybody knows that Messi has broken Muller’s forty-year old record of scoring the maximum number of goals in one calendar year, but Zambia FA and Brazilian club Flamengo have now come forward and challenged Messi’s record saying their own players have scored more goals than Argentinean player in one calendar year. Zambia FA says it has sufficient evidence that shows that their club Kabwe Warriors’ striker Godfrey Chitalu has already scored 107 goals back in 1972, which is much more than the number set by Barca player. On the other hand, Brazilian club Flamengo has its own claim that says former Brazil captain Zico has also scored 89 goals back in 1979. In an interview given to a Brazilian sports daily, Bruno Lucena, head of Flamengo's research and statistics department, said, “We are upset. Messi still hasn't passed the milestone.” He also presented a whole list with all the goals fired by former Brazilian that include 81 goals for Flamengo in 1979, seven for Brazil, … [Read more...]
