Messi is now the maximum goals scorer of all time in a calendar year besides holding many other records. Since, he has never been a player who runs after records, coz records keep breaking when he plays. Another reason for his persisting match winning performances is his fitness, coz it is hardly seen that Messi is not playing a match due to an injury. Perhaps, one can count on his fingers when he did not play, like when he became father and his recent knee injury that missed his Saturday clash. Messi Scores 86th Goal of the year, becomes world record holder now
Argentinean great Lionel Messi finally reached to a milestone of scoring a maximum number of goals in a calendar year by breaking Germany’s legendry Gerd Mueller's record of 85 goals set up around forty years ago. Messi scored 86th goal on Sunday during a match between his club Barcelona and Real Betis in Spanish league wherein Barca defeated Real Betis by 2-0. More interestingly, he still has to play three more matches this year, so everybody is keeping his fingers crossed to see what would be the next target for record aspirants. John Terry to Miss Club World Cup
