Lionel Messi, the Argentinian and Barcelona star football has ever been known for his fitness and rolling match records! Recently, in a match between Barcelona and Benfica, he somehow got injured in an attempt to score his record leveling 85th goal of the year. He got his knee badly injured, and was taken off the field on a stretcher. Initially, it looked to be a major injury that could lay him out of the field for a longer term, but fortunately, his injury did not come out to be a serious one, and expectedly, he will only miss one match for that injury. So, the countdown has begun for the introduction of new-age technology that is expected to overcome old human based likely errors. While this technology is also in the hit list of humanoid favorites, there is also a section which is eagerly waiting for it to happen. FIFA has confirmed that it will use this technology for the first time in Club World Cup wherein both goal line technology providers’ techniques would be judged for their help in determining when ball actually crosses the goal line. Until now, there are only two providers of this technology, and both of them work on different principles, while GoalRef system uses specially made magnet area around both goal posts, Hawk-Eye system uses additional cameras on both the goal sites to catch each second of a goal with highest resolutions. Dundee Utd Seek SFA Clarification over Rangers Boycott
Yesterday, Rangers called upon a total boycott of Tannadice tie to be played in February, whereby they urge their fans not to attain the clash in a protect over United and other SPL clubs’ verbal opposition on Rangers application to join Scottish Premier League. The protest taken by Rangers is not only a planned protest against some of the SPL clubs, but it has become one of the biggest protests in the history of Scottish league. Colombia’s Former Goalie Miguel Calero Died at Age 41
Colombia's former goalie Miguel Calero is confirmed dead after having a stroke last month; he was since in the hospital. The 41-year old star ex-goalkeeper underwent with a brain surgery to relieve from stroke’s effect, but despite repeated attempts to save him, he was declared brain dead by the doctors, however, according to his family’s wish, he continued being on a life support system by the time all his family members get together in Mexico. His club Pachuca, whom he was training these days, informed the world about his death via Facebook. The statement reads as, “Grupo Pachuca deeply regret reporting here that on the day December 4 2012, the biggest symbol of Tuzos, Miguel Angel Calero Rodriguez, has passed away. Miguel Calero was a football player who left his mark on a great era in the history of Club Pachuca.
