Manchester City is slowing getting into its last year rhythm with a brilliant form they displayed in last few weeks, in fact, they are now on the second spot in the leaderboard –just six points behind the topper Chelsea. Manuel Pellegrini also looks even more confident to defend their league title after an impressive 4-1 triumph against Sunderland yesterday. The hero of the match was 26-year-old Argentine forward Sergio Aguero who first helped his side equalize the early lead and then scored a finisher to earn full three points. If we look at last few games by the Manchester side, they seemed to be ruling not only the field but as well on strategic front and manager is being applauded for his effective strategies in the field especially during critical moments or when they are trailing. Henderson and Lambert request Gerrard to stay with Liverpool
When you are above thirty, it is always skeptical whether your side will offer you an extension or not no matter who you are or how important you have been for your side, and it specifically holds true for English sides who are infamous for their fire and hire policies. Liverpool’s 34-year-old captain Steven Gerrard is one such player, who has been an integral part of the Reds army back since 1998, and whose career in Anfield looked to be in doubt when he himself said he is looking at other options in spite of the rumors that Reds are ready to renew his contract which is going to expire next June. However, no official statement has been made from the blub bosses, but few close sources have revealed that acclaimed midfielder may not be interested in staying with one of the most successful English clubs. Nonetheless whatever is happening in the backyard, his colleagues Jordan Henderson and Rickie Lambert have appealed their mentor to sign the extension being offered by the bosses as they … [Read more...]
Jose Mourinho questions efficiency of FFPs in changing financial atmosphere
Financial fair play policies were made back in 2009 to safeguard the interests of small clubs who cannot compete big sides in the transfer market by restricting every side’s expenditure limit to what they actually earn in their financial statements, but now when they are finally imposed by the European governing body, results are quite surprising and completely opposite to their initial objective, at least Chelsea’s second term manager thinks so. Chelsea is among the few sides who found to be in violation of FFP since its enactment and UEFA president has until not taken any action against any of them. Portuguese blames the loopholes intentionally put in those rules so sides having huge foreign investments can enjoy the perks of both the worlds. However, Blues and Manchester City are effectively the only sides whose transfer plans got shattered by the limits of FFP this season and in the next one as well, they are asked to shrink players under their radar and possibly that is why both … [Read more...]
Jose Mourinho stood by Costa’s shadow performance in Sunderland game
The ability of any manager to lead a side is determined not only by the number of wins he achieves but also with his attitude towards any player who does anything unexpected in the field, i.e., fans expect such a mentor to stood by his players if they have done anything wrong and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is proving himself to be one of them. While Blues are doing exceptionally well in the English Premier League, every eye always seems to be pointed over star performer of the season Diego Costa and expects him to score in every match and that is why when Spanish forward failed to add another one to his tally of 11 goals against Sunderland, media lambasted him and start flashing negative stories about his behavior in the match and debates started why he was not issued a red card when he appeared to have kicked out at John O'Shea. Although referee punished him with fifth yellow card of the season but critics always point the controversies not their solutions. Anyways, fans are not … [Read more...]
