Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho seems to have convinced his captain Wayne Rooney to stay with them that is why Portuguese has loudly said no one is leaving ManU this winter, perhaps, he even says there will be no coming in or going out of Old Trafford. Over the last few weeks, fans were skeptical over the stay of Rooney with them since different stories were hinting different things: while few were linking him with the Chinese club, there were also few media houses who were denying any such move right from the beginning. Now, when Mourinho has made it clear that Rooney will be playing with them for rest of the season, fans can relax a bit as they will continue enjoying the services of club's all-time top scorer earlier for some more time. This is also noteworthy that no such announcement has come from player den but since he as well did not deny what his boss said, it is to be believed a patch-up has been taken place between the two behind the curtains. Replying over the … [Read more...]
Rooney would have been more appreciated in Europe than England: Ferdinand
Every big achievement in soccer is appreciated all around the world not only in the region such player belongs to and if we are talking about Rooney’s recent feat of scoring highest goals for Manchester United then we should assume Englishman would get equal appreciation in Europe as well, perhaps if we look at the way such players are being treated in their later age European sides are much better than their English counterparts and this is what is being felt by many Rooney fans who find their star player in miserable condition after his transfer talks to the Chinese club. The 38-year-old defender Rio Ferdinand is one such player who is surprised to see the treatment Rooney is getting despite being the highest goals scorer for ManU, maybe he is having some problem with his bosses else how is it possible that a legendary player of his class decides to move outside after surpassing Sir Bobby Charlton's Manchester United mark with his 250th goal for the club? Joel Matip selection in Liverpool is in jeopardy after his international retirement dispute
Every player plays for his club and national side during his play career and later it is generally seen that he first retires from the international soccer and keeps playing for the club soccer but sometimes his international retirement attracts controversy that makes it difficult for his club to play him in club games. Liverpool’s 25-year-old defender Joël Matip is one such player who is having such a problem these days. Actually, Matip has not played for his national side Cameroon since September 2015 and he also made it clear back in December that he had no intention to represent his country in any international game which was taken as his international retirement but after his name was selected in Cameroon's squad for the ongoing African Nations Cup in Gabon it made it even more difficult for his club Liverpool to pick him overriding his international controversy. If we look at what Cameroonian Football Federation has to say they explain they have a right to do this under … [Read more...]
Paul Pogba refuses to accept there is any link between transfer fee and goals scored
Every time there is a priciest transfer in soccer, every eye starts staring over the performance of such a highly priced player expecting he would be outstanding in his first season itself. But it is also true that there could never be such a performance from anyone no matter what the price tag he is carrying with him and experts defend it saying anyone needs time to settle down in a new environment. Manchester United’s £89.3 million Paul Pogba is one such player who could not meet the expectations United fans had raised from him after his high profile transfer from Juventus last summer and if we look at his performance since then he could only score four goals and recorded three assists in 20 Premier League appearances which is way too average from a player of his class. Specifically talking about Sunday game where he gave away a penalty for handball as United drew 1-1 with rivals Liverpool, it looks like his confidence level is also down in the pressing atmosphere he is playing in … [Read more...]
Philippe Coutinho hopes to comeback in the side after early recovery from ankle injury
Injuries have ever been the biggest threat for any player and if he is an in-form player, any untoward injury can almost ruin his dreams. Liverpool ace Philippe Coutinho is one such player who badly injured his ankle in a match against Sunderland in November after a clash with Black Cats’ midfielder Didier Ndong that left him sidelined with ankle ligament. Later, he only made a cameo appearance from the bench in Liverpool's 1-0 EFL Cup loss to Southampton midweek and then Coutinho feared it was the end of his season but after his early recovery he thanked Reds' medical staff who worked indefatigably to get him back to full fitness just in the right time before Sunday's grudge match with Manchester United. Yet, it still depends upon the manager Jurgen Klopp whether he would like to play his 24-year-old midfielder or offer him more time to heal out of injury completely. Factually, Coutinho did not play for nine games for Liverpool that almost made him a surplus asset since team is … [Read more...]
