Saudi King Declares National Holiday On Nov 23 After Saudi Arabia Shock Argentina At World Cup

November 23, 2022 by 888Scoreonline

Saudi Arabia has possibly caused the biggest upset at the 2022 FIFA World Cup by defeating heavyweights Argentina on Nov 22. Argentina were expected to have an easy opening game against minnows Saudi Arabia but received a massive shock after the Saudi’s surprised them with their aggressive brand of football and went on to win 2-1. Argentina started right and were quickly 1-0 after 10 minutes after Lionel Messi converted a penalty. It looked like Argentina were going to run away with the game in the first half as they seemed to find the back of the net with ease only to have those goals over turned due to the off-side rule. Argentina scored thrice but all three goals were disallowed. Saudi Arabia came back strong in the second half to score back to back goals which eventually help them seal the game 2-1. Saudi King Declares National Holiday Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman decided to celebrate this massive upset by announcing that Nov 23 will be a public holiday in Saudi Arabia for … [Read more...]

Wayne Rooney will miss next WC qualifiers for a knee injury

It always pinches to the core when a national side playing a crucial world cup qualifier misses its key players for injury and this is something that seems to be happening with England national team which is about to miss the services of Wayne Rooney. Yes, this is a surprising news but true that Manchester United player will not be available for the England's friendly against Spain on Tuesday after missing Three Lions training on Monday morning with a ‘minor’ issue. Rooney is the only one to miss the upcoming national games for injury reason since another player Ryan Bertrand also sustained the minor injury but he will remain with the national side and possibly play in the upcoming qualifiers. Although, no substitute has until been named for the side but as far his captaincy is concerned, 26-year-old Jordan Henderson will again wear the captain's armband in place of Rooney. If Rooney current injury comes out to be serious, it would be a double blow not only for the Three Lions but as … [Read more...]

July 21, 2015 by 888Scoreonline

Soccer has ever been a European dominated sport hence almost every top position at world governing body is bound to be occupied by a European administrator. Sometimes it happened spontaneously while most of the times it was done intentionally backed by the European powerhouses who do not want any non-European to rule world’s most popular game of sport. If you look at the FIFA presidents and how many of them have until been belonged to other regions, you would have to scratch your head to find one and even if you are lucky to recall one name that too would have been decades old. But this time it seems to be happening after recent crackdown by the Swiss investigators over top FIFA officials on corruption charges. It has been one week passed by when Sepp Blatter, probably the longest running chief of FIFA, had to leave his post amid severe pressure after his name was dragged into the favor given to Qatar and Russia while choosing the 2018 and 2022 world cup hosts. But after his ousted … [Read more...]
