World soccer’s governing body is trying to celebrate hundred years of its prestigious world cup event by recalling its old and charming memories. Everybody knows that first ever world cup was hosted by Uruguay in 1930; perhaps they became the champions by defeating their neighbor Argentina by 4-2 then. Those were the glorious days for Uruguay coz they were also the two-time Olympic champions. Anyways, now FIFA has planned to host 2030 world cup jointly in Argentina and Uruguay; this would perhaps only be the second time when two hosts would organize this global soccer event. Earlier, Japan and South Korea have jointly hosted 2002 world cup. The plan is still on the table but it looks like to be a possibility soon coz no one is expected to make any objection to this highly optimistic way to pay a tribute to soccer’s mega international event. The first ever world cup trophy, old Jules Rimet trophy, is still considered as the most charming beauty in soccer fraternity and its centennial … [Read more...]

Brazil is the hailing ruler of soccer these days by making an impressive progress everywhere. After winning Confederation cup, especially five consecutive games in the world event, it has gained thirteen places on FIFA’s just released rankings. Spain overcome Mexico to reach Under-20 quarterfinals
It was rather a bad luck for Mexico or should we say a brilliant comeback from Spain when they came from behind and overcome their pre-quarterfinalist by 2-1 in the Under-20 world cup. Spain, who is already Under-19 European champion, will join other confirmed quarterfinalists France and Uzbekistan in the last eight. The match began keeping Spain as the favorite but when Arturo Gonzalez’s brilliant diagonal shot could not be stopped by Daniel Sotres, it was 1-0 on the scoreboard in Mexico’s favor. We have already seen in Confederation Cup final that what an initial lead can mean for a team, and here, when Mexico got the initial lead, it was like a repeat of Confed. cup final for Spain where they were in a similar situation after Fed’s initial goal. But today was the day for European champions and they showed the world why they are the top ranking team in the world. Soon after an initial trail, Spanish strikers took the game more aggressively by their wonderful shot passes theory, but … [Read more...]

It was third consecutive confederation cup for Latin Americans and they almost crushed Spain who was unbeaten for last 29 matches. Neymar also shined in front of eighty thousands applauded spectators by scoring his brilliant left foot goal in forty fourth minute of the game.
