What could be the dream end to Champions league this season? It would be if Messi and Rolando play against each other in the finals. Even destiny is in its favor that is why both these teams are kept apart from facing each other in the semis itself. Bayern will play with Barcelona in the first semi while Dortmund will clash with Ronaldo’s men in the second semifinal of the series. In fact, this would not be the first time when Ronaldo and Messi will be in front of each other in the Champions league’s final, coz Ronaldo was in the United’s team when they met with Barcelona and Messi back in 2009 Champions league final, but he was rather unknown that time. Now, things have changed completely, Ronaldo has transformed into what he is today and so is the Messi, so it is perhaps the greatest entertainment package for fans across the world if these two contemporary starlets face each other in the mega finals at Wembley.
Out of the four semifinalists, both Real and Barca are attacking outfits while other teams are rather a mix of both, so it would be interesting to see how Barca tackles Bayern’s all-round gameplay, and similarly, how Real could dig into Dortmund’s solid defense. On the other side, it would also be difficult for both these teams to survive in front of firing attacks of both Barca and Real Madrid. Record wise, Real Madrid has won this title nine times in the past while Barcelona has rather a recent success in the European League. Moreover, it has been eleven years Real could not win this title, therefore they will be more eager to grab the title this time. Likewise, Bayern has four Championship titles in hand and most recent of them came back in 2010. Dortmund is the only virgin semifinalist who could have a triumph in the league but they are as competitive as three other teams are.
Dortmund general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke said over Real as, “I don’t think Madrid will be afraid because of what happened in the group stage. They will respect us, just like we respect them.” Similar reactions were also from Real ambassador Emilio Butragueno, who said, “We have a lot of respect for Borussia Dortmund. We played them twice but didn’t manage to beat them. This time we hope it will different as we want to be in the final.”
