It is generally not expected from a player of a side to praise any other side especially if he has just moved to the side on a record breaking fee but sometimes it is done with a well calculated intention and ahead of a mega clash between the two sides. Yes, we are talking about Manchester United priciest player Paul Pogba who has recently been the most talked about player for the price tag he carried with him especially when his side is about to meet another high profile opponent Chelsea at their den tomorrow.
This is true that Pogba has until failed to deliver as expected, however he released some pressure off him after scoring two goals in the 4-1 home win over Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday. Offering his expert views over the last few games played by the North Londoners and if they can score an edge at their den this weekend, he said, “Those games, playing against Chelsea and Liverpool, I think we play football for that. You have to enjoy those games. We will be playing against one of the best teams in the world so we try to win. It’s not going to be easy but that’s football and that’s what we love.”
“A few players haven’t played a lot like Darmian and Michael. We played like it was the normal team, which is great. That’s what we need because there are a lot of games coming up so if you switch one player that player has to be ready and that’s what happened.” Adding about the myriad options, Mourinho has in the dressing room and how he can rotate players to prepare them better for upcoming games, France midfielder said, “I think our confidence is very high now and we’ll prepare for the next couple of days for the big game on Sunday. I enjoyed it last time when I was there and it was nice to be on the scoresheet. We drew though, so hopefully we can get the win this time.
“We know it’s going to be a tough game against Chelsea but we are mentally prepared for that. We have the confidence now to go on and win every game.”
This could be Pogba attempt to remain in the headlines but ultimate test for his class will be at Stamford Bridge when he will be against the 2014-15 premier league winners to justify the mega price check paid by the Red Devils for him.
