Every time a new manager takes over the charge of a highly demotivated side, that has been a topper in just previous season itself, his first job is to upraise the morale of the side and to make them believe they can regain their lost space and he does so taking the example of other similar sides who have done this successfully and confidently. Chelsea is one such side who has seen ups and downs in last two English premier league seasons, in fact, in one season they claimed the league silverware while in just next season they almost struggled to survive and this transformation from top to bottom is something that is itching players’ morale even now. This is the most challenging job for the new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte who first wants to ensure his side will forget everything happened in the last season and will start from the beginning and for that he is taking the example of premiere league defenders Leicester City who won their first ever English topflight title in 132-year history last season and they are now the role model of every side passing through its worst phase including of course North Londoners.
Talking about the his future plans and how he takes the success achieved by his countryman Claudio Ranieri leading the King Power Stadium, 46-year-old Italian professional football manager said in a news conference at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, “Now, some people can think that Chelsea are not favorites for the title and I think that they can be right after last season. Also, you see that we have signed only Batshuayi. But we are ready. We are talking with the club and we know that this club — the team — needs to reinforce. I am sure that in the coming days we can reach our target to reinforce the team to go closer to the other teams that now seem to stay higher in the table compared to Chelsea.
“Leicester City must give us a great example. You can have the best talent, the best champion, but you must also have a good spirit in your team, a team with good organization and good players. If you have all of those things, you can win. You can reach your target. I am sure about this. And in the coming days, we can buy one, two, three players. Players that can reinforce us for the season as it will be very, very tough. History says that in the Abramovich era, Chelsea are always in the Champions League, and it is important to get back very soon, to fight for the title, to be there at the end of the season.”
