The current English premier league season has seen a maximum number of ups and downs among its top rankers on the board but if we talk about the two consistent sides who kept their momentum going throughout the second half, it is Arsenal and Leicester City who have almost stuck on their respective positions on the card. However, Foxes are leading the tally and they are probably the winner for this premiere league title, even then, Gunners are as well equally strong on paper but somehow could not deliver to their class in the field despite having backing of several experts about their strength. Manager Arsene Wenger has also been put on radar for his failure to win the title after reaching so close to it, in fact, fans are now not even willing to come in the stadium to watch their game and Yesterday night’s West Brom game at Emirates Stadium was one such match where Arsène Wenger side witnessed lowest attendance of its fans. Sensing the seriousness of fans anger, Wenger had to appeal to the Gunners fans to come and support their side but of no use and official attendance was just 59,563 on paper but actually number was much lesser.
Anyways, Arsenal won the game convincingly by 2-0 and Arsenal overlapped Manchester City on the board to secure a third spot making sure they will qualify for the Champions league for a consecutive 20ths season. Appealing all the fans to support their side after looking several hand-hold hoardings suggesting his dismissal, 66-year-old Frenchman said, “To come and support the team. If you love football, you go out there and I think you see quality football.
“That’s what we try to give to our people. It was a special night as well, Thursday night, and I don’t know if you are intelligent enough, nor am I, to detect exactly why everybody that did not turn up tonight did not turn up. I believe we dominated from the start to the last minute and in fact, was what we did against Crystal Palace. Overall I believe the quality of our game was very good. Maybe, we could have scored more goals. That is the only thing you could say tonight. We didn’t concede and couldn’t finish the game off the way we wanted.”
Adding about their target this year, he furthered, “We want to finish as high as possible. You never know what happens in front of you. There can still be twists and turns but we want to win our games. We came out of West Ham and Crystal Palace thinking we had produced the quality and didn’t get the points.”
