David Beckham could stay at Parc des Princes beyond June

David Beckham

David Beckham, the former England captain, has recently signed a short term deal with French club PSG, and just on last Wednesday, he could play his first match for them. While looking at the wide applauded response from stadium crowd, he is extremely impressed and his preference in the match was also descent enough to keep him at Parc des Princes for a longer period of time than expected. Even, Beckham also wants to stay there, though he denied having any formal understandings over the matter. PSG defeated Marseille by 2-0 on Wednesday and Beckham remained on the field for a good 86 minutes and also assisted Zlatan Ibrahimovic in scoring a goal. The Galaxy star showed no signs of missing the field for so long, perhaps he was looking as fine as any other player, though, he admitted that he was tired by the second half but never let his exhaustion overtake him. Even since he has been in the France, he is getting immensely positive response all over, recently, when he took part in a promotional activity; thousands of fans gathered around and cheered him. Similar response he got from the crowd when he was first substituted on the field.

He talked about the fans and response he is getting there in an interview where he said, “When you play with good players like I’m playing with it’s very easy to play the game so I’ve been able to settle in. They’re very good people and very good players and have looked after me in every sense. They’ve made me feel at home. We’ve been welcomed in Paris with open arms, it’s been very special to be welcomed the way we have. She (his wife) loves everything in Paris, there’s not one thing she doesn’t like. She was very happy when I signed for PSG because she loves Paris as a city. I’ve been very lucky throughout my career that I’ve been able to play in some great cities.”

At the moment, PSG is doing fine both French league as well in Champions League, perhaps it has qualified for quarterfinals of the French Cup, and if it could win Champion league this year, it would be fourth title win association for Beckham besides Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Galaxy. Moreover, his spell with PSG is also distinguished for his commitment to donate his salary to a child welfare charity.
