There have been many cases in almost every sport when we saw a retired player or coach or even a manager came back after looking a desperate need for him. But, this is not always correct for a legendary soccer manager to come back in a hurry without offering much time to new manager to answer his critics. This is something that is being happened with League title defender Manchester United where newly appointed manager looks unable to revive his team’s debacle start this year. Perhaps, his failures started right from the moment he placed bids for players during the last transfer window, but unfortunately for him, he could not be successful on most of the occasions, which was then linked with his incompetence to negotiate. Now, he is saying they lack world class players while other soccer pundits say United needs a desperate mix of both new and legendry players. Under these circumstances, only one name came into the mind of everyone, i.e., Sir Alex Ferguson and media started flashing his bytes citing his reviews about the current United’s situations.
But like what any other legendary official would have done, he also denied coming back into the field and says Moyes is still the best man to handle United, however, he needs more time to understand the surroundings over here. He told to a US TV channel when asked about his possible comeback, “I’m not interested in managing again or getting myself worked up about Manchester United’s results. You would be throwing your money down the drain if you put any money on me coming back as a manager.
“United are in good hands with David Moyes. He will be fine. He’s a good manager. I made my decision. The timing was perfect. There is no way back for me now. I’ve got a new life. I want to go to the Kentucky Derby and the US Masters, the Melbourne Cup. I want to visit vineyards in Tuscany and France.”
Notably, Ferguson has been the most successful and probably the longest running manager for United holding the top positing for almost 27 years. It is always a tough job for any manager to replace a manager like him and obviously expectations are always high if you are leading a club like United. Even then, Moyes should have been given more support as these are the most pressing moments for him when everyone wants him to prove with limited assets he has. Anyways, let’s hope to see United comeback in the league!
