England’s impressive show in warm-up game with Peru

June 1, 2014 by 888Scoreonline

There is a saying in the army that you can win half the battle if your soldiers are high on moral and it holds true in soccer as well which is by no mean less than fighting for the pride of your nation, especially in the world cup. English team and its players are always known for their over confidence and an intrinsic skill how to deceive your opponents even before you enter into the field. Yes, we are talking about the mind games English think tank is always known for. If we look any of the popular Sportbooks, no one is offering good odds for England team to lift the world cup, yet everyone acknowledges their ability to rule the headlines even if they are losing in the field. For now, we are talking about their recent 3-0 win against Peru in the world cup warm up match and the good thing about the match has been consistent dominance of the English team throughout ninety minutes, in fact, they kept firing the goals at regular intervals. Daniel Sturridge, Gary Cahill, and Phil Jagielka found the nets from corners midway for their national side to warn others they are back in form. Sturridge, especially, praised the attitude of English side and their winning belief they showed in the match. He pointedly said England may not lift the world cup, but he is happy to see they are behaving like the winners that is all needed for the event like world cup.

Talking about game and their show, 24-year-old Liverpool forward said in a TV show, “It was difficult to be fair because they defended well and they were very compact. We had worked very hard throughout the week and there wasn’t the match sharpness as much as we would have liked. But it was great to be out there and we are happy with the result.

“It (his goal) is not important about myself, it is about the team and our preparation; putting in a shift tactically and technically to be in the best shape for the first game.”

English manager Hodgson is also happy to see his side’s mega show in front of 85000 odd spectators and added, “It is the perfect end to a perfect two weeks. It was a wonderful send-off to the World Cup by a quite incredible crowd. It didn’t look as if it would be too comfortable in the first half, but as soon as Daniel scored that wonderful goal the game wasn’t in doubt. To do it in front of 85,000 people was a great send-off, the atmosphere was a vote of confidence.”
