Football is not just a game of showing your ball holding technique is better than your opponents, but it also checks you with toughest outdoor climate conditions. In fact, being an international game, there are many places where players have to pass through completely different climate conditions, like what is going to happen with English or North American players going to play in the Brazilian world cup. If we forget about 2022 Qatar world cup, which is definitely going to be the hottest world cup ever, upcoming Brazilian event is the hottest by far for English players and English national team manager Roy Hodgson understands how hot surroundings can suck players stamina hence he is training his team to tackle the most conflicting climate conditions they are assumingly going to witness in Brazil. Right now, English team is in Miami for the final training session ahead of their first world cup match with Manaus on June 14. Apart from manager, many players also have a strong view that most of the team members can’t cope with the humid ambiance awaiting them in England hence want to pass through rigid training session to be well prepared for the world cup.
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge seems to be readied him ahead of others that is why he replied on the upcoming whether conditions, he said, “We never make excuses about conditions, and going into the World Cup, it’s going to be the same. You have to adapt your style to the conditions. You can’t always play the way you want to play when it’s warmer. It’s not about worrying about the heat, the rain or the snow. You just adapt your style to whatever the conditions are and you look to play your football regardless of how it is.
“It’s going to be a lot more difficult in terms of the conditions when we get to Miami, much warmer. That is great preparation for us because when we go to Brazil, it’s going to be even warmer.”
The 24-year-old Birmingham born forward has been in good form in the last premier league season, and most probably, he would lead the forward line with another high profile Wayne Rooney for English side. Still, he does not think his place is secured in the national squad. Doubting his place in the team, he said, “For me there are no guarantees in football and I will just work hard and not worry about which team the manager will pick.”
