There are many players who have always been on the radar of high profile clubs, what is important is not the fact that whether these players want to make a shift or not, but how their current clubs respond to their transfer deals. In most of the cases, clubs agree looking at the deal amount, but in many cases, clubs also follow another approach and keep denying until the end or until bidding club raises its amount to a lucrative figure. Look at the case of 29-year-old Everton defender Leighton Baines, who has been on the radar of Manchester United throughout the last summer transfer window, it was his bad luck or United’s newly appointed manager’s failure to negotiate properly, but he remained where he was. Now, rumors are coming again that David Moyes is still interested in English international and would check every possibility in coming winter transfer window to bring him with them. Though, United could be the better team on paper than Everton, but it is true that Everton is on the top of United on leaderboard and this superiority is keeping them confident that they would at least finish among the top four this season. This could be an exaggerated statement looking at the shacking positions in the league table where both Arsenal and Liverpool have lost their spots for Manchester City and looking at United’s last few matches, they are equally likely to join them in next few months.
But anyway, Everton manager Roberto Martinez is confident he will not release their star center back Leighton Baines at any cost, in fact, he is committed to keep him with their squad until the end of this season. He reveals how important this footballer is for him in the second half of the season and finds no reason he should allow him to leave. He shared his views in a recent interview given to a new source where he said, “In football you don’t work long term, you go window to window, and I can guarantee that Leighton will be here at the end of the season. That is 100 percent.
“That is how you work from window to window — to have a stronger squad than previously. Leighton is vital for us in the second half of the season. Bryan Oviedo has been terrific, but we need Leighton and Bryan fit for us if we are going to fight for our football dream.”
So, let see how he manages to protect his eye candy from United in upcoming transfer window.
