While whole world seem to be criticizing Luis Suarez ban, FIFA disciplinary committee looks not to be impressed by anyone’s attack for their prompt action against the Liverpool star forward. Recently, when media highlighted the growing interest of Spanish club Barcelona in Player of the Year, many assumed that some leverage would surely be given after so many verbal attacks on FIFA decision to debar him for four months. But again, sticking to their earlier sanction, FIFA’s disciplinary chief has confirmed that Suarez ban for biting Italian player Giorgi Chiellini during world cup group D match on June 24 would continue, however he can be switched from England to Spanish side if both the clubs agree on it. Actually, the Uruguayan FA has already initiated an official appeal to restrict their player’s ban supporting the fact that he himself has apologized to the Italian player and Chiellini has also appealed FIFA to lessen his ban, but it has now become the matter of pride for the governing body which is largely controlled by the English and Italian brains – the sides which had to be thrown out of the Brazilian event by brilliant performance of 27-year-old.
Head of FIFA’s disciplinary committee, Claudio Sulser, clarified the scope of his ban and allowed his medical for any transfer related activity. He said, “The player cannot have any activity related to football, but a medical examination for a transfer, yes — the sanction is not linked to transfer rights.’”
On replying whether there is any chance of his ban to be revoked or reduced in future, he replied, “This is still an ongoing case and an appeal has been filed, so I prefer not to give my opinion. When the committee was analysing this case, one thing I mentioned in my capacity as the chairman is we don’t need to impose an exemplary sanction, we need to have justice and reached the sanction in a very severe case.”
Now, a conclusive news is coming that Barcelona and Liverpool are in serious talk for the player and if Barca could convince Reds regarding his transfer clause, they can surely enjoy his services in the next domestic season. So, Suarez is all set to change his home from England to Spain where he would be seen along with firing power of La Liga runner ups like Neymar and Messi and who knows he gets even more fame residing with The Primera División’s most influence club!
