FIFA to Ban 3rd Party’s Interest in Players

November 20, 2012 by 888Scoreonline

Soccer is unarguably the world’s most profitable game not only for players but for all participants: may it be a club, or even those third parties who are not directly involved in any player’s rights but are entitled for a share in player’s profit. FIFA, being a global governing body of the game, now thinks this is a bad practice which should be restricted, so it now urges that any agent or third party’s interest in any player’s economic rights should be banned. Moreover, it also feels a need of “international standards with precise rules and regulations” to control agent’s behavior in the game. If everything continues as planned, FIFA will table down its proposal to panel’s next year meeting. Until now, there is a global practice where clubs throw away big bounties to buy players in association with a third party which is known or unknown sometimes. This third party may or may not have any interest in the game, it is only concerned with profit figures these clubs make by reselling their bought players. So, in a way, it’s like a business activity prevailing in soccer which should be restricted, FIFA feels.

To maintain soccer in its true virtue, it is necessary to remove all non-gaming elements from it. If there would not be a third or undisclosed party’s involvement in buying big priced players, clubs will use them only for their games, not for making profits. Any third party interest in buying or selling of players is already banned in some countries, like England and France, but other countries are using it since ages. Moreover, UEFA has already taken a strong action against all those clubs who share economical interest of a player to meet ‘Financial Fair Play’ rules. FIFA penal of football experts led by Michel Platini includes: Richard Scudamore, chief executive of England’s Premier League, Franz Beckenbauer, George Weah, Kalusha Bwalya, and Steffi Jones among others.

Platini feels great to lead the prestigious committee of soccer experts. He said, “I am very proud to chair this prestigious committee. The discussions we had today highlighted the competence of these members to address and effectively tackle crucial areas that impact football.” Every soccer sponsor seems to be eyeing on the development of these new regulations, and if it is being passed by FIFA’s penal of authorized members; there will be a new fair play world for all clubs irrespective of their financial health to influence any player’s demand.
