The upcoming Champions League final is probably the most exaggerated final in recent years coz of its all German involvement. Both the finalists are in their best forms, and that is why everyone is expecting a thrilling final on the cart on 25th May at Wembley. The sport’s news sources are running various talk shows to discuss who would be the title winner and they are getting highest TRP as well. This shows the level of obsession this final is enjoying at the moment. There are many views by different experts in the business about who will take home the Champions league trophy this year, but one person who knows both teams very well has placed his cards on the Bayern Munich to triumph over the title. Ottmar Hitzfeld, the former coach of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, has said that Bavarians are his favorite to beat their rivals in the upcoming Champions league final. Bavarians has already placed two finals in last three years and this is their third participation in the final after losing their 2009-2010 and 2011-2012 campaigns in the final. According to him, Jupp Heynckes’ men are in great form and certainly have an upper hand over BVB for their consistent performance throughout the league, but Borussia Dortmund can also ruin their hope to be the winner.
He recently gave an interview and discussed all the possibilities he sees in the final, he said, “This is a dream for German football that there is this final. And then, for me, also with Dortmund and Bayern being my former clubs.
“I believe that Bavaria are the slight favourites, but both meet at eye level. Dortmund have won some games against Bayern in the last three years. Form on the day will decide.
“Dortmund have nothing to lose. They have achieved more than they could have imagined this season. And people were expecting them to go out after 90 minutes against Malaga [in the quarter-finals] and they virtually pulled off a miracle.
“Dortmund reaching the final is sensational the situation is different. One team craves the Champions League and after losing two finals, one team just wants to go win the match.
“It is about time that the Schweinsteiger and Lahm generation will be rewarded with a European title. Only with an international or continental title can one write great history.
“Bayern have had an outstanding season and have broken all the records. This is unique and this success will remain. But if you do not win the Champions League, there is a disappointment. There is a sense of entitlement in Munich.”
