As the New Year is coming across, lots of transfers are lined up for taking place. Nicolas Anelka, the first line of striker, who has played for Arsenal, Chelsea, Bolton, Liverpool and Manchester City in the past, is now looking forward to make a shift from his current Chinese club after a payment dispute. His availability is a good news for clubs eyeing on him for a long time, and two prominent clubs who have shown interest in him are QPR and West Ham. Among two, chances of QPR are very strong coz of its high net worth status and mounting pay packages it usually pays to strong players. QPR manager Harry Redknapp has also openly expressed his interest in Frenchman following his recent dispute with his current club. On the other side, West Ham is also looking forward to prepare a lucrative deal for the striker, so he could move to east rather preferring a west London club in January.
Actually, Anelka joined Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua along with former Chelsea team-mate Didier Drogba last summer, and they both have since had a dispute over their pays which has now led to a stage where at least Anelka is looking forward to cancel his contract with them. If, as obvious, he terminates his current contract, he will surely move to English premium league, but which club he will choose is not yet finalized, according to his agent. Moreover, after the injuries of Bobby Zamora and Andy Johnson, QPR’s front line of attack is not as strong as it should be; hence Redknapp finds Anelka a well suited player for his team. Citing reasons for his choice, he said, “He is a player that is of interest to anybody,” the Rs boss said. “I think he is finishing in China so he is available.
“It is what you can do, whether you can afford these players, what they are looking for, whether they are reasonable, whether you can deal with them and most importantly whether you think they can do the job you want.
“He is a top player so he is a player we would be interested in, but whether we could afford to get anywhere near I him I am not sure.
“I think the chairman knows Nicolas’ people and that so has got a few details on what it would be.
“It depends, as I say, just how expensive the whole package comes to. If it is within reason, he is a player that could certainly improve your team. There is no doubt about it.”
