John Heitinga, the defender of Dutch national soccer team along with Everton, has hinted about his new deal with Everton. Though, he is already in contract with them for another two years, but, for the prevailing news of his transfer to Turkish sports club: Fenerbahce, he cleared all the speculations and confirmed his stay with Everton for more years – probably. Till date, he has 112 match caps for Everton and if another contract is in making, he is going to serve another 5 to 7 years with them. However, despite all the rumors, Heitinga is happy and satisfied with his current club. Perhaps, he is quite confident and assured to sign another contract term with Everton. On asking about his future career at Goodison Park, he said, “There is a big chance that I will sign a new contract at Everton, but I’m not sure yet.”
He further added:
“I just had a new contract proposal. The deal is not done yet. But I really love it at Everton. Everton is a beautiful club with great fans.”
So, he cleared all the doubts about his transfer and future line of contract with any club whatsoever. Basically, the 28 years old star from Dutch got transferred to Everton from Spanish football club: Atletico Madrid back in 2009 at £6million contract fees. That contract was for five years, hence it’s supposed to be end in summer 2014, and if going speculations are to be believed, his new contract will again be for five years term, but for a sharp hike in the fees. Though, there has nothing been finalized until now, yet, there is high probability that new signing amount could go beyond 15 to 20 million or even more.
Heitinga has been a star for Everton ever since he joined the club, perhaps despite his low goal scores; he has always been in the news for his solid field presence. Hence, David Moyes is quite optimistic about him and wants him to continue playing for his club. Earlier, there were some links up news about his probable transfer to Fenerbahce for an undisclosed amount, but after the Moyes’ intervention, Heitinga decided to part his ways with Turkish sport club and continue his career playing at Goodison Park.
Rest depends upon what the final shape of new contract would be and how Heitinga takes on his future career.
