Sir Alex Ferguson hails his team after their triumph in the EPL this season. He said a lot of things about his team, but broadly he cherished their consistency which eventually won them this prestigious title. Last year, City did not let them take away the series, but this year, United made it sure that no one can stop them from winning the trophy when they have four matches in spare. Perhaps, City is following them this year too, but they cannot defeat points of their arch rivals United. The victory was sourced by Robin van Persie’s hat trick which made Aston Villa even more miserable in front of 70000 spectators Last night. Ferguson appreciated his team’s fighting spirit carried from last season when they were denied of the title on the basis of goals difference from City. Cheery manager said about his team,
“This club never gives in.”
“From Sir Matt Busby, the Munich Disaster, to rebuilding and to win the European Cup, that tells you the history of United.
“Every player who comes to this club has to have that engrained.
“We have lived up to the expectation.
“What the players had to do was focus on how we lost the league last year and make no mistakes. The focus was good.
“The one thing I said to them was ‘don’t lose on inferior goal difference’.
“We’d never had that before at this club and this season we have corrected that.
“This could arguably be. There is a lot of youth and a lot will get better, we expect that.
“It is sweet, it doesn’t matter when you win the title, the consistency has been phenomenal.”
He also talked about Van Persie’ goals in the match and added, “All the great goals we’ve scored over the years, from David Beckham through Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Eric Cantona, that goal has joined that.
“Robin has been unbelievable. Tonight he was unstoppable. The second goal reminded me of myself, but I can’t remember when!
“He scored exactly the same goal for Arsenal.”
While talking about City’s failure this season, he said, “The games between the two of us there was nothing in it. But in the rest of them we were far better. We were a far better team than Man City in beating other teams, and that has been recognized by him.”
So, congratulate ManU and Alex Ferguson for their tremendous success in the EPL!
