Italian coach Prandelli gets an extension ahead of the World Cup

May 27, 2014 by 888Scoreonline

A job security always plays an important role in your overall performance; this is an age old saying in the world of business and it perfectly holds true in sports especially soccer as well. Ahead of the world’s biggest soccer extravaganza in Brazil, top contenders are trying to make their key role players fully satisfied even if they require to offer them an extension – if they deserve of course! Italian soccer team is one of the top contenders for the title, as always; hence they are correctly following the path of indirect motivation via a reward of contract extension by offering a longer period of service to coach Cesare Prandelli. Reportedly, Squadra Azzurra have extended coach’s terms of service until the 2016. Actuary, rumors were on since quite some time now, hence this is not the perfect case of offering something good ahead of an important event as Prandelli deserves to be a long term coach for the Italian soccer team. The 56-year-old former midfielder joined the side back in 2010 replacing underperformed Marcello Lippi and impressively has since been a performer with a runner-up finish in the Euro 2012 and securing a third place in the last Confederation Cup.

Media recently highlighted his mess up with club bosses and how he was being pressurized to join the management instead training the team and then he was promised to be aware of his future at the helm before the world. Now, standing by their words, club bosses finally stick him to his old charm by securing his place for another two years. Prandelli told about the news in a press conference at Coverciano on Monday, he started off with the words ‘I’m sorry’ and added, “I’m sorry for the delay, but it was due to the fact that we were signing a new contract. Let’s not expand on the details now, though, because we’ve got an objective which is far too important coming up.

“We’ll be able to talk about projects and programmes from September. I have been willing to sign a new contract for the past two months and we’ve been using this time to draw up the agreement, which wasn’t particularly difficult.”

If rumors are to be believed, Italian soccer team is highly confident to lift the crown in Brazil hence national selectors are not talking any chance to build an inside confidence among the teammates by extending their association with four-year old coach. Let’s see how this year proves to be for the Italians!
