It was finally a good news for the Louis van Gaal who is about to resign from his current job. Yes, you heard it right, Dutchman has reportedly resigned from his managerial post at Old Trafford and he took this extreme step in consultation with his bosses. Apparently, former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will be his successor at the helm while Dutchman is quite satisfied for wining at least one title leading the Red Devils. Knowingly, former Real Madrid boss has recently announced to have been willing to win at least title on his English campaign and he succeeded defeating Crystal Palace by 2-1 in FA Cup final last night. Performance of the team was at par with their standard- something that they have until been missing in the season and Van Gaal got some respite looking his men playing with full confidence. It was United first silverware since Sir Alex Ferguson retired back in 2013 and this is something that no one had ever imagined from a side like ManU.
According to some reports being flashed whole day today, 64-year-old was spotted saying, “No, no, it’s over.” Which means he is no longer on the top club post anymore. On the other side, Portuguese boss is ready to take the charge ahead of next season itself and he has also made few media bytes talking about his plans leading a new side. Since, Mourinho has also passed through the same stage Van Gaal is facing right now, it is being believed by few experts of the game that he is not going to survive on his new job as well and former Red Devils defender Phil Neville is one of them, he said, “I can’t see him staying too long at Man United, maybe two or three years, that seems to be his shelf life at a football club.
“When Jose finishes at a club it tends to be a pattern where he falls out with a few players, he gets disgruntled and the team dips. It happened at Chelsea, it certainly happened at Real Madrid where there were rumours he fell out with a few players. It’s a pattern with Jose, he comes into a club, he gets success but he doesn’t stay for too long. He’s a proven winner, a proven champion. United fans want a team that will challenge for the league title, not a team that finishes seventh or fifth, and Jose is probably the man for the job.
“Knowing Jose as I do, I think he will have done his homework and he’s meticulous in his planning.”
