Ever since Jose Mourinho has joined Manchester United on the supreme post, fans are eagerly waiting to see how he starts managing the affairs of a highly demotivated side and if he will still continue with his attacking style of play as he used to be leading Chelsea. Righty so, Portuguese talks about his players and what combination of field placement he is eying in this premier league season. He prominently talks about two new strikers Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford who are brought into the Old Trafford at a big investment hence everyone predicting a key role for them in the forward line while others are taking it as a possible beginning of another cold war between existing and new players at the forward position. But looking at Mourinho’s exaggerated signings for the new side, it is expected he would be focusing more on the forward position than center back hence he is gathering best young players for the pressing job. Likewise, Wayne Rooney’s role is also under scanner after his failure to deliver in the defensive area last season and after arrival of new players in forward line he would have to fight for the prominent place at the front.
Anyways, talking about both the new entrants and if they can deliver as expected despite their ages, former Everton boss said, “Thirty-four plus 18, divided by two, is the perfect age for a football player. So our two strikers are exactly in the perfect age, because 18 is not the perfect age, 34 is not. So I think they can be an amazing complement for each other. As a manager I have to adapt to what I have in hand. That is one of my strengths. I don’t think a manager should have one style. They should be able to adapt a style to reality.
“We want to play different to last season. Van Gaal is a top manager. His philosophy is clear. Mine is different — not better; different.”
Likewise, adding about another new defender Eric Bailly and if he is capable to contribute in United success in upcoming season Mourinho refused to say anything, however, only replied, “I don’t know,’ when asked about the new defender and further said, “People love the club. I was previously in other clubs, lucky enough to be in big clubs, but I didn’t feel that passion. At United I felt immediately a huge passion.”
