English premier league has been the most difficult tourney to deliver for any manager and player hence whenever any manager joins a side he first tries to secure his place since this is perhaps the only league in the world where managers are sacked overnight for not meeting the expectations and therefore whenever anyone completes one year of his service to any side, it is like a big achievement for him and this is something that seems to be happening with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has no time to celebrate his first anniversary at Anfield who took the charge of Anfield side one year back after sacking of Brendan Rodgers. Although the 49-year-old German boss did not achieve any big success in the year yet he somehow impressed everyone with his style of leading of a highly demotivated side. If we look at his first year spell at the helm, he took his side into the finals of two cups and in this season also Liverpool stand at number four on the table with five wins and just one defeat making him a promising contender to lead the side longer than expected.
When everyone is expecting him to celebrate his first season in the toughest soccer tourney of the world, former Borussia Dortmund manager is only willing to remain focused on the season ahead and reacting over the growing queries over why he is not celebrating his first spell leading a pressing English side, he replied, “I have no time. And I am not in the mood for reflection, to be honest. It’s a year, I’m a year older and all this sh–, but everything else is good. Not perfect, but in a good way. That’s what we hoped, that’s what we said.
“After one year standing here, we can talk like this. There was doubt, there was a lot of rumour around me. People said ‘obviously he was a good coach at Dortmund but a German managing here doesn’t work’ things like this. That’s better now. The thing is, I’m not here for a year, I’m here hopefully for the long-term, and it means that we have to use all the information we have until now and learn from it. That’s how life works, collecting experience, learning from it and being ready for the next challenge. My year is what, the 8th of October, yes? We will not celebrate, I can tell you that! Hopefully nobody brings me a cake!”
