Karacan injured his knee much severely than expected; out for six weeks

October 29, 2012 by 888Scoreonline

Reading’s midfielder Jem Karacan sustained a knee injury during a match against Liverpool on 20th this month when he collided with Steven Gerrard. Initially, that injury was not expected to be a harsh one; perhaps everyone was hoping his comeback in less than a week. But Reading luck with injuries is not that bright, coz after Jem Karacan; who is also out for several weeks coz of his injury, Karacan’s injury is also found to be serious in nature that made him unavailable for at least six weeks. With this, Reading’s back luck continues this season coz it is yet to win a match despite its seven played matches till date. Injury’s status comes to know after Karacan went for a scan that showed how badly he got his knee injured. Reading’s next match was with Fulham on Saturday which ended in a score 3-3 draw, and as expected, Karacan was not the part of Saturday’s squad as well.

It looks Reading’s fate in the league is tied with Karacan, coz he, earlier, also missed initial matches coz of his ankle injury and now he got his knee injured, so his availability even after six weeks is not quite sure at the moment. Though, doctors, at the moment, expect him to recover fully after said period of time, but final statement can only be said after this duration. Karacan informed about his injury to the world via Twitter, he tweeted, “For those asking looks like im going to be out for around 6 weeks… gutted to be injured again but could have been worse, thanks for all of your messages and support, means alot & ill be back on the pitch as soon as i can! thanks again.”

His massage shows how unfortunate he thinks of himself, though he is also optimistic about his early recovery. Nonetheless, at the time of injury last week, he was not so sure that his injury would throw him out for six weeks. He then said, “It was a fifty-fifty challenge. I did the same thing five years ago for the reserves and it feels pretty similar to that. I’ve done the medial ligaments before so I knew when I did it that it wasn’t great. I was able to walk so I thought I would give it a go, but it was too loose so I had to come off.”

He also added to his statement, “It’s one of those things but I can’t get it scanned for a couple of days because it’s too swollen so I’ll know more a bit later. It was a fair challenge, you go for them all the time, but I got a bit unlucky so it’s just one of those things.”
