Klopp credits tough competition for growing interest of world’s top mentors in EPL

August 3, 2016 by 888Scoreonline

This is a fact that English premier league is the most popular soccer league in the world and this title is given to this yearly tourney for the level of competition everyone enjoys playing here. Over the long time, English topflight has also been infamous for luring best talent of the world for the money it offers to players and manager and for that reason almost every good player or mentor of the game aspires playing in England. This year, almost every top notch club including Chelsea, Manchester City, and Manchester United has a new manager joining them who has recently been associated with European sides but thanks probably to the raining money in premier league that they decided to check their level competing in the topflight over here. This is being felt by most of the experts of the game including Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp who has a strong feeling that it is the money and tough competition that is forcing top European coaches and players to try their luck in the premier league.

Klopp himself joined the Anfield side only in last October and has been a promising manager in the last season but he as well understands how difficult the survival of a manager is here in England where expectations are way too high than in other parts of the world. He specifically talked about his two colleagues: Antonio Conte at Chelsea and Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and why they are here in central Europe. As far Guardiola is concerned, he is a well respectable name in soccer with a proven record leading Barcelona which is the top most soccer club in the world and there he helped them win 14 domestic titles while leading Bayern he won three consecutive Bundesliga titles. Apart from him, there are other high profile names who are associated with different English sides hence upcoming season is going to be the most exciting in recent years.

Talking about the reason these top names are in here for, Klopp told the Liverpool Echo, “I think all these managers are here because competition makes it really interesting. If you are three times in a row Spanish champions, three times in a row Bundesliga champions, then you think OK, let’s try something else. If you are looking for the biggest challenge, then you need to go to England. That’s the difference 100 percent. It’s not like they wanted an easier job. They wanted this.

“Winning the title in England is the biggest challenge of them all. There are the most teams who can. It’s not easy in Germany where all the clubs take points from each other. If you want to be in front of Bayern Munich, you have to win all the other games and then a minimum of one against Bayern. They don’t lose. There are a few teams in England who have always been playing Champions League in recent years but nobody is satisfied. It’s because one other team has always been better.”
