While everyone is talking about few centric players and their show in this world cup, there are also few others who are in the race to achieve the unparalleled feat of scoring maximum number of goals in FIFA event. German forward, 36-year-old Miroslav Klose is one such player who could soon be the player to score more than 15 goals in the event as he is trailing by just one to Ronaldo’s best in the flagship event. In fact, Polish is confident he could soon attract everyone’s attention when he will score the most awaiting goal in his career. However, when asked if he is willing to overcome another German great Gerd Mueller’s record, he does not believe he is near to parallel the former great as he had been the most charitable part in German history. Though, he has smashed Mueller’s Germany record in the last month itself but team boss Joachim Loew expects him to achieve more feats especially by ruling the maximum world cup goals record. Playing in his last world cup, this mega scorer has recently been in doubt whether manager Joachim Löw would offer him a chance to present their team despite his age and when he was chosen in the last list, he was more than happy to see confidence of his manager in him.
What he said on his comparison with German marksman is, “Please don’t compare me to Gerd Mueller, I will never be mentioned in the same breath. I don’t like speaking about records, but anyone who knows me knows that this is an important goal of mine and it is something that keeps me going at this level.
“It would mean the world to me and I realise it would be special, but I am not yet at full fitness after an injury, and I know there are no guarantees in any team.”
Reacting to his attempt to break his record, Ronaldo has appealed the Brazilian team not to offer him a chance to overtake his 15 goals feat which shows how professional Brazilian players are and how much affords Klose would have to do if he wants to attain the mega feat in the game against hosts. Ronaldo said in a smiley tone, “Please cast a tiny spell on Klose. That would be good, so that Klose scores no goals here. I will pray with all my powers that he does not break the record.”
Anyways, it is almost certain Klose would break the previous record and become the highest world cup scorer and whatever Ronaldo said is just a sincere reaction by a former great!
