Some players enjoy the perks of being on the radar of more than one club at a time and this pleasure is enjoyed by very few players looking at the highly competitive contemporary soccer. Ukraine’s 24-year-old midfielder Yevhen Konoplyanka is one such player who has been like an eye candy for Liverpool, Arsenal, and Tottenham off late. This is not only a surprising treat for the youngster, but also a promising start for his premier league career if he is interested in. Though, he would have to identify his priorities before picking any one. According to Liverpool manager, he has been in talk with the Ukrainian for some time now, in fact, he is confident to bring him in Anfield despite the fact that nothing has been confirmed from player’s camp at the moment. However, talking about where he could go next week, Konoplyanka’s father said recently, “I don’t want to talk too specifically, but the reports about a transfer to England — they are true. He might change clubs later this week. We are not considering offers from within the Ukraine.”
This news was a confirmed one until his agent issued a conflicting statement mentioning he is looking at other opportunities outside England as well which created suspense about his future destination. His agent talked about this in a recent interview where he said, “When writing about the interest from Liverpool, these people only know part of the truth. Yesterday, I had a long and productive conversation with the chairman of another English club. The chances of Yevhen moving to England soon are very high. His club might be Liverpool or another English club.”
Leaving the suspense as it is, he did not reveal the club his master would finally switch to. Another club Tottenham, who has until been interested in him, has now refused to sign him though they are still aspiring for him, Coach Tim Sherwood confirmed this and said, “Yeah, he plays off the left. I know him but nothing looks like happening. We’d have to do it now because we’ve only got two days left.
“I don’t see it happening but that’s why we’ve got people working with us. The chairman here is always asking me if there’s anyone we need but I need to make sure they are of the quality we need and not just a body for the sake of it. It’s very difficult to change clubs and settle. I would be very cautious if we did anything.”
