Lippi refuses to replace Real Madrid coach Mourinho

December 29, 2012 by 888Scoreonline

Marcello Lippi

Soccer fraternity is one of the most exaggerated marketplaces where relationships start building with just one comment. Like, Zinedine Zidane’s recent comment or rather recommendation about Marcello Lippi as being a perfect replacement to handle Real Medrid’s Jose Mourinho’s portfolio became the source of series of speculations and aggressively highlighted in the media that Lippi will soon be shifted to Santiago Bernabéu substituting Whites current head coach. But, now, Lippi has come forward and rubbishes all the media speculations about him signing up with Madrid. He also said that he is very happy with his current assignment at Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande. Lippi has a two and a half year deal with Chinese club and until then he is in no mood to search for a better place in the world. The 64 year old has already served various clubs in the past, like Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli. Actually, Madrid president’s biased statement towards Lippi heated up the rumors which are now put on hold when Lippi himself said, “Going to Real Madrid on Zidane’s advice? It’s not true. It’s not that I’m unhappy to be linked with an important club like Real, but there’s nothing in it.

“I don’t know what Zidane and Florentino Perez have said, I’ve read stuff about it in the papers, but I have two more years on my contract with Guangzhou and I’m very happy in every aspect there. Nothing has happened, if they called me I would tell them the same, that I’m still under contract.”

Lippi is the same coach who made Italy win 2006 world cup along with Juventus’ champion of the Champions League title when he was with them back in 1996. Madrid could not have a dream start in La Liga this season, and only finds itself placed in the third place well behind top position holder Barcelona and second place holder Atletico Madrid. Speculations about a top level changeover have long been speculated by Madrid bosses in public, but, since Lippy has now clearly refused to share the pitch with them, Perez and Zidane will have to look around to find a best counterpart. On the other side, Germany coach Joachim Low and Arsenal`s Arsene Wenger are two other contestants for the head coach’s post at Bernabéu.

Looking at the outside developments, it looks Lippi is not going to join Madrid, but backend developments may also be interesting for the star soccer personality, and if in future, we hear something in favor of current reports, no one should be surprised though!
