When you have no taker; you need to satisfy with whatever you can get. This is something that is being happened with Liverpool forward Luis Suarez who had once been an eye candy for everyone but suddenly became an unrequired asset. Notably, he had been in talks with various clubs after his statement that he wants to leave Anfield, but when his contract clause, which could have allow him go anywhere easily, expired without any taker, he got assured that he will have to stay where he is and rightly so, he finally joined Liverpool A-Team after serving his ten matches suspension for biting Chelsea’s defender Branislav Ivanovic. Long suspensions have ever been his pet reward coz earlier he was out for nine matches for his racial remarks over United’s defender Patrice Evra. Anyways, the good news is club managing director Ian Ayre has said they will offer him a contract extension but after current season, which means, he can stay for a longer time or until he finds a good offer to makeshift.
Ayre told about Suarez extension in a recent interview where he said, “For all his controversy on the pitch, off the pitch he’s a great guy, he’s a family man and he’s very well liked. He keeps himself to himself with his family, he’s been committed he’s worked hard, trained hard.
“It’s been difficult, and been difficult for him really. It’s always difficult being a footballer, and being a footballer like Luis Suarez you want to be on a football pitch. I think it’s been a challenge for him but he’s got through it and I think, and he’s demonstrated last night, for a first game back, for somebody who hasn’t had the opportunity to play in the Premier League this season, he acquitted himself very well.”
He also talked about Arsenal’s £40 million plus one pound intelligent offer to steal their forward and called it a step taken by business minded peoples. He added, “That’s the transfer market. I have huge respect for Arsenal, they’re a great football club, with some great people. I’m good friends with Ivan. Trying to get players, making offers for players, it’s all part of the game.
“Anyone who says it isn’t and makes a big noise is not really being honest. Everybody does the same thing in football, everybody’s trying to achieve the same thing, we’re all trying our best to buy the best players for the best price.”
