Manchester United and its newly appointed manager Van Gaal both have been in the news ever since Dutchman agreed to join the league club facing lots of troubles – from players form to low confidence. Like any other team or club, he was also instructed not to sign his own countrymen for some time which he objected when arrived to England and now he is granted permission to bring his favorite players from around the world if he needs them. However, he is also advised not to buy players for the sake of buying perhaps only target those who can fit into his dream team. This is noteworthy that former Netherlands boss’s first preseason tour of America has been successful and lined up United among the favorites to lift English topflight again, but it would be interested to see how this highly demotivated team of world class players perform in first few months of 2014-15 league season.
Though, Gaal has no scarcity of funds yet he is known to be an intelligent pro who assumes the requirements in early stage itself. Significantly, United has until spent some sixty million ponds on signing defender Luke Shaw and midfielder Ander Herrera on Gaal’s first English tour. But his charm has ever been Netherlands defender Daley Blind who was thoroughly impressive in Brazil world cup and after having been permitted to bring Dutch players, he would like to proceed with his aspiring list of players.
Explaining about his needs of the hour, former Barcelona boss said, “I have to see for myself what these players are capable of before I can make any judgement — two weeks is too short to say. I know more now than I did when I first came to the club, but we could not train properly on tour. I cannot judge that because the squad I have inherited has not yet learned how to perform my philosophy.”
Moreover, he further clarified his addiction to Dutch players and said, “If they are at the level I want them to be, then I will sign Dutch players. Dutch players are usually cheaper than players of other nationalities and they have usually been very well educated in the Netherlands, I believe. They have to be of a level that can play well in the English Premier League. You have to ask if that is the case with every player.”
