Lukas Podolski moves to Inter Milan on loan

January 6, 2015 by 888Scoreonline

If you are associated with a big side, problem that every newcomer faces is lack of exposure in main league games and if we are talking about English premier league, this reality is even more painful for new entrants who make an English switch for an opportunity to shake legs with some of the biggest stars. Like any other league side, Arsenal is also having an army of world class players and many of them usually reside on the benches for most of the season and 29-year-old German midfielder Lukas Podolski is one such player who switched from Cologne in 2012 summer but could not get enough opportunity to play in the final eleven. Even this year, when Emirates side is not having its dream form he seems to be settled in the dressing room by manager Arsene Wenger. But now, after persisting pressure from club’s financial think tank, bosses at the helm decided to loan few of unused players to make some money out of them and Podolski is one such player who has apparently been agreed for an Inter Milan switch in the middle of the season.

Significantly, Podolski played in the Germans winning squad in the Brazil world cup but in English topflight he could only found nets three times due to lack of enough field appearances. Milan manager Roberto Mancini understands the need of a player like him hence penned down a loan deal with the league side. Though, the move was in the news for quite some time now, but last week, few media houses even reported that it may not happen for a price dispute and fortunately for the Italians they could manage to convince French mentor for hiring the talented center back. What Mancini said over the deal, is, “He is experienced and has a wonderful career behind him. He will help us and is not at the end of his career.”

Likewise, Podolski is also happy to finally have an opportunity to play in the Italian league, he wrote over Instagram, “I’m for the confidence the club has in me – and will try to pay it back with strong performances. I want to give a special thanks to coach Roberto Mancini who made a big effort for me to come to Inter, he made it an easy decision for me. … I hope to rank among club legends like Ronaldo, Zanetti, Klinsmann, Brehme, Matthaus and many others one day.”
