Practically, there are countless soccer clubs in the world, and tens of them are well recognized any worthy, but are they really what they claim to be, is definitely a question being asked by various soccer regularity authorities to ensure no one gets succeed in backend money scams. Spanish soccer club Malaga is one club who has recently been banned by UEFA for at least one season along with imposing a €300,000 fine, coz, reportedly, club did not meet its due bills in time; perhaps, UEFA also asked it to stop spending more than they are allowed according to Financial Fair Play. Moreover, governing body has also given club a March deadline to clear all its debts, including dues to other teams, staff, players, and tax authorities. UEFA issued a statement about its said ban where it says, “Uefa’s club financial control body has taken its first decision due to the presence of significant overdue payables. Malaga is excluded from participating in the next Uefa club competition for which it would otherwise qualify for in the next four seasons.”
Spanish club immediately replied to UEFA ban as completely disproportionate and unjustified. It also issued a statement that says, “Malaga wishes to express its total disagreement at the decision issued today by Uefa, and considers the intended actions against the club to be completely unjustified,” said a statement. The club believes they are being made a ‘scapegoat’ and an ‘example of’ by Uefa by this unfair treatment.” Moreover, Qatari-owned club also condemned all the media reports recently flashed about their inability to pay most of the outstanding bills. Notably, media recently reported $11.6 million in outstanding wages alone along with many other pending payments.
Club also mentioned about its Qatari owners, who, according to it, are unswerving to honor each of the pending bills in due time. Perhaps, its owners have recently invested more than $7 million in club, hence, there is no reason club cannot meet its financial debts, club said. It also added, “For the calm of all its followers, Malaga CF wishes to state that it will continue to fulfill the different phases set out for its process of internal restructuring which began last summer,” continued the statement.
“In recent days an agreement between the and the Martiricos club, under which the prize money retained by UEFA was un-embargoed. Furthermore, despite all the information which has appeared regarding the agreements which were not fulfilled by the club with Osasuna or its own players, Malaga CF affirms completely that these agreements have been fulfilled.”
