Manchester City doesn’t want me anymore, says Kolo Toure

October 14, 2012 by 888Scoreonline

Kolo Toure

The Manchester city’s central defender and Ivorian footballer: Kolo Toure has a doubt about his future with the club, perhaps; recently, he gave an interview to BBC where he expressed his worries about Manchester City’s vibes to throw him out, even though, he still wants to play for the club with full-on confidence and a level of competency with other young players. Toure, who is running his 32 years of age, has only played one match this season, and more importantly, he has not been chosen by City’s manager for Champions League. Despite, he is keen to play with the club where his brother Yaya also plays. On asking if he would do anything to catch his place in the squad, he said, “I want to stay, I want to fight for my place. It’s difficult, I was a key player. I’ve done everything but that will not change the manager’s decision.”

“I like City and this season I started every game pre-season. But when the season started I’ve been kicked out again from the team.

“I fight. My team-mates know, my brother knows. I do my best but the club are showing me the way out at the moment.”

His comments tell a lot about his internal feelings about the treatment he is getting from his club. Notably, City’s ex-boss Mark Hughes signed him at whopping £14 million in 2009 and made him City captain that time, but his six month’s ban changed the equations and probably his place in the team. He had been banned on the charge of taking a slimming pill that contained a restricted substance. During that period, another central defender pair Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott taken over the central defensive lineup for Manchester City.

Though, he is keen to play City, yet he did not deny playing for other clubs as well. Nor he has any bitterness against City’s manager. For him, everyone has some sort of reasons to take someone or reject someone. He told about his wish to be like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes and serve City as they did. He added, “I’m not angry with the manager. If someone doesn’t want me then there will be another club that does. I still have this hunger. I take Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes as an example. What they are doing for Manchester United is incredible. I want to be like them.”
