Manchester City extends its fans base by a sponsorship deal with a Thai soft drink maker

July 5, 2013 by 888Scoreonline

Manchester City and Manchester United are two known arch rivals in the EPL, but they actually have more rivalry than we think of, i.e., they are now competing each other in a race of the widest regional reach. Accordingly, EPL runner up has now signed a two years sponsorship deal with a Thai based soft drink maker Sermsuk Public Company Limited which sells EST brand. Though, the amount and detail terms of the memorandum are still unknown but with this deal City will have an official soft drink partner in South East Asia. Everyone knows how United is spreading its arms by signing several partner deals in this region, and the reason for growing worldwide interest in Asian fans is obvious as this continental has one of the biggest populations and these clubs can flood their global fans base to three fold if they continue their association with local companies. EST is a fast growing brand in Thailand with as much as thousands of retails outlets located in every part of the region and according to this deal, these outlets will now showcase exaggerated advertisement campaign showing City stars which will boost awareness among local soccer fans.

Furthermore, there is also an advertisement featuring City players which will soon be flashed across the nation creating a visual appeal for both the deal partners. Dhitivute Bulsook, the President of the company said on this occasion that “est Cola look forward to working in partnership with Manchester City, in order to not only drive brand growth within the international carbonated soft drinks industry, but also domestically among Thai consumers. Through collaboration and innovation, both brands are poised to expand their customer and fan bases nationally, delivering the cool-est and most comprehensive football experience for Thai consumers to enjoy.”

Manchester City is also planning to design a Thai version of its website so a maximum number of Thai fans could know about their legacy. City’s chief commercial & operating officer: Tom Glick told about this in his online statement, he said, “Thailand is a huge market for the Club, which is why we’re delighted to soon be launching a Thai version of the Manchester City website, set to go live in July, the new website will satisfy the demand from City’s millions of fans from around the country to be able to view the latest news and content in Thai.”
