Last few matches cost United loses it leading points in the leaderboard, but this win along with Manchester City’s defeat in another match, gave it another breath in life. Now, again, they are leading the EPL table with its seven points lead to second place holder: City. Chelsea is trailing on the third spot to losing another four points to City. Since, Chelsea has one more game to play; it can further improve its position if it could win its last match. It was probably among the few matches where United successfully chased the leading scores of its opponent for three times and finally clinched a decisive goal right in the last moments. The great fighting skill gave them a well deserving 4-3 victory in the EPL.
With their eighth successful chase in the series, United secured EPL title for the 20th time. Jolly Alex Ferguson said after the match, “Once again they have proved their courage, never gave in – down three times and came back three times, and eventually deserved to win the game,” United manager Alex Ferguson said. Now, Manchester United is the clear leader of EPL this season, so Sir Alex Ferguson would probably be a happy man looking at the way his team is fighting until the end.
