Chelsea has been one of the most active English clubs this January thanks to manager Jose Mourinho who is determined to make his comeback impressive with at least one or two titles this year. Reportedly, North London club is planning to release Juan Mata for Mohamed Salah to strengthen its center back in the second phase of the English topflight. Though, none of Chelsea or Manchester United has said anything in public about the deal, but close sources say the deal for Mata is approximately 37 million pounds and is in the final stage. As far Salah is concerned, Blues have signed up a replacement deal with Basel to bring him at Stamford Bridge. This move is being taken as a good one from Man United coz they desperately need a fresh air to rejuvenate their squad especially in the central area which is their weakest point. Mata is said to have completed all legal formalities to initiate his transfer except medical which will soon be done at Old Trafford. Financially, it is a fruitful deal for Chelsea as well coz they bought him just for £23.5m from Valencia back in 2011.
Moyes is highly optimistic with the deal especially after his failure to bring some high profile players in the last summer, but this time, he missed no opportunity to add some beauty to his squad. Football expert Guilleme Balague also supported this deal and said, “The idea is that Mata, who Chelsea are happy to let go, goes to Old Trafford in this transfer window. I am under the impression that a deal will be reached because it benefits everybody.
“United need quality, Mata needs to get out of the situation he is in and it would reinforce United for their meetings with Manchester City and Arsenal, which is clever from Jose Mourinho.”
Nevertheless, this deal is being taken as a motivated one by Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger who recently questioned how Chelsea can afford to sell its main player directly to an opponent? Replying to his allegations, Mourinho responded, “We don’t do the market, we don’t do the rules, we have just to do according to the rules. If Wenger sells Özil to Man United in this moment I would be very happy because he sells a very important player. Normally he should be happy that Chelsea sold a player like Juan Mata, but this is a little bit his nature. When he says this is not fair, I think what is not fair is that his team always has the best days to play.”
