La Liga 2012-13 has shown us many surprises and one of them is recent infield spat between FC Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and David Villa where, apparently, Lionel Messi was yelling on David Villa over some issue. Actually, everybody saw what happened on the ground and everybody is surprised to see a cool player like Messi is behaving like this. Basically, there could be several reasons for such loss of control on the field: one could be, that match between Barcelona and Granada brought many shocks like Messi’s inability to score a goal even after getting so many chances. Perhaps, after the brilliant display of soccer, Barcelona could not fire a goal until 87th minute, this delay and frustration could be the reason for uncontrolled behavior of Messi. Otherwise, we have seen him showing great level of comfort even during many embracing situations, like in the last match when referee dismissed a penalty, we saw him smiling on that decision. So, how comes a 25 years old start footballer becomes an outspoken has to be analyzed by himself.
Anyways, whatever happened on the field that day, has been underplay by everyone later on, including Messi and Villa themselves alongwith Barcelona manager Tito Vilanova and Thiago, each of them said that it was just an distribution of emotional arguments and has nothing to do with their off field relations. Apparently, there was the crowd of more than 90000 spectators at Camp Nou, so everyone had to shout to convey a massage to another player and Messi just done that. At the moment, no individual conflicts have harmed the Barcelona as a club, perhaps, it has proudly placed itself on the first spot in current season, and everyone is hoping that its next match against Sevilla on Saturday could bring another victory for it and match up its best performance in La Liga till date.
Actually football is a game of passion and exaggeration, so we usually see many shoutups on the field every now and then and this one was not an exception. After the incident, Messi accepted that whatever happened was coz of his frustration where he could not goal for so long time and resulting he lost his volume control, he said, “Perhaps we were a bit asleep in the first half but in the second half we found more space and created more chances. It difficult to play against teams that close down at the back. We had more difficulty in the first half because we needn’t to play faster. If we win without being at 100% perhaps later it’ll be easier. It’s a long but we have to keep up this dynamic.”
