Argentinian captain Lionel Messi is not a kind of person who comments on any relationship in the making or retiring, in fact; he is rarely seen making an avowal about someone who has been his close rival in the past. Real’s former manager Mourinho is one such personality who has always been in the list of Messi’s most admirable individuals, and this time, Mourinho has made a crucial move from Real to his former club Chelsea. On his this move, Messi says that Portuguese manager would be as successful as he has been during his first spell at North London club. Notably, Messi has faced him as an opponent during his first spell at Stamford Bridge, so his remarks about his skills worth more. Similarly, four-time Ballon d’Or award winner has also few words for his club’s arch rival Real Madrid, who, he thinks, is not going to be weakened by the departure of ‘special one’ perhaps he still takes Real as his most competitive opponent in any league. He said during his visit to Senegalese town that “I think the Spanish league is difficult anyway and will continue being difficult. We’ll be fighting against strong teams with great players like Real Madrid. Mourinho was a great coach but we know that Ancelotti is equally great. I think Mourinho will also succeed back at Chelsea because he’s a great manager.”
Messi is also going through lots of comparison with young Barcelona signee Neymar; perhaps former coach Pep Guardiola has even advised Camp Nou club to offload Messi after Neymar’s arrival coz both these players can never harmonize their relations. Messi condemned these reports and said about Neymar, “I know Neymar is a great player who is going to bring a lot to Barcelona. God willing, we will be able to play together at Barca.
“I think we have a great team and great players, as we’ve shown over the years. I think the arrival of Guardiola will make Bayern stronger. Winning the Champions League is always difficult and our objective is trying to win everything and succeed in all competitions. That’s how we work at Barcelona.
“You talk of Germany dominating football recently – I don’t know what is going to happen in the future. I know Germany have a history of great teams in global football at international level and club level. Winning the Champions League is difficult for anyone, whether they are from Germany or Spain.”
