Each club becomes the hot commodity every year around the summer transfer window, in fact, there are several contract expiries lined up during this period; hence it aids the transfer window with lots of talented players willing to switch from their sides. Arsenal, who is among the top contenders for this year’s league title, is one such club who is having few contracts which would expire after this summer and 31-year-old Frenchman Bacary Sagna is one such defender who is looking for an alternate place as club sources have not revealed any extension for that matter. Among the interested sides, Inter Milan is on the top and claimed they are in talk with the Ibrahima Sonko cousin and hopeful they would come up with a decisive deal in couple of weeks. According to Milan sources, they are just waiting for final confirmation from player’s side and as soon they get it, they would lay down a lucrative offer for him considering his age factor. Despite exaggerated claims through media, chief Thohir is still not convinced that Sagna would agree over their terms and said, “I’m not used to making announcements if there is not a signed contract.
“I can only say that we like Sagna and that at this point it all depends on him. If he does not arrive, we will take a younger right-back.”
According to other close sources, there are other aspiring English sides who could sign him and prominent names among them are heavyweights Chelsea and Manchester City and due to this high profile interest, Sagna is taking more time than expected in finalize his post Arsenal career. Thohir understands this therefore has also enlisted other players into his aspiring list that includes Fernando Torres and Edin Dzeko. He added, “Where we will make the most important investment? It will be made in attack or midfield. Eto’o? In attack we have Palacio, who is over 30 and Icardi who is very young, so the other striker has to be in the middle age.
“I too hear these names. Maybe one of them will really arrive. But he must respect our salary parameters.”

At the time of writing this news, Bacary has refused to join Italian side as he decided to stay in the premier league at least for one more season. Thohir confirmed this via a statement that says, “I think Sagna won’t arrive because he has decided to stay in the Premier League. Right now we only have Nagatomo and Jonathan. If one of them gets injured you need somebody else to come in.
“But we have to accept the fact he wants to stay in England. We understand and in that case we might bring in a young player from our academy.”
